Our Semi-Custom Cap Services allow clients to personalize a stock cranial prosthesis or wig without the wait time or cost of a full custom build. These finishing services are performed in-house by our trained technicians and are designed to improve fit, color, and scalp realism on an existing unit.
Services Offered
Cap Resizing. We adjust the circumference of the cap to better fit your head shape. Ideal for clients whose measurements fall between our standard sizes or who need a slightly larger or smaller fit for comfort and security.
Pigmenting. We apply custom color-matched pigment to the lace or cap to reduce visibility and create a natural scalp appearance. Available for the front hairline and part (T-Pigment), the full front and top, or the full cap from front to back. To capture your exact scalp color code, we require a 1/2 ounce sample of the foundation or makeup you wear on your scalp. This sample is used to formulate the pigment blend and ensures a precise color match.
Silk Top Retrofit. We hand-sew a silk liner beneath the lace to conceal the knots and create the illusion of hair growing from a natural scalp. Available for the front hairline, the front and part, or the full top panel.
Hair Color Service. We custom-color the hair on your unit to match your preferred shade, including root work, highlights, lowlights, and full color changes. Performed by a certified colorist using professional-grade color designed for human hair wigs and prostheses.
What to Expect
After booking, we will confirm the service details, schedule a color match or fitting consultation when needed, and provide an estimated completion timeline. Most services are completed within 5 to 10 business days. Turnaround time may extend for multi-service orders or custom color work.
Who This Is For
Semi-Custom Cap Services are ideal for clients who have purchased a stock unit from us or another provider and want to refine the fit, color, or scalp appearance before wearing. These services can also be added at the time of purchase.
All services are performed on the cap and hair of the unit. We do not alter structural components such as the cap construction, ventilation pattern, or hair density as part of semi-custom service. For those modifications, we recommend a full custom prosthesis order.
