How Offers Work
Thank you for the offers coming in on our capstone collection. Every offer supports a Hairline Illusions Arts, Science and Technology Institute student and the craft they have spent months learning, and we are grateful for the way this community has shown up for them.
If a higher offer comes in on a piece you have bid on, you may receive a notice giving you the chance to counter. The first counter we receive is accepted, and the piece is yours. There is no extended back and forth and no bidding war.
We keep it simple on purpose. These are teaching projects, and the process should honor the work rather than turn it into a contest.
Since this is going on the page rather than into an inbox, that middle paragraph becomes a public commitment. Worth confirming it says what you mean, because "the first counter we receive is accepted" gives the piece to whoever replies fastest, not to whoever offers most. If you intended the highest counter to win, change that sentence to: We accept counters as submitted, with no back and forth, and the highest counter takes the piece.
